Did Satoshi Nakamoto Just Say “Nour” and Who is Wagner Tamanaha, Nakamoto’s New “Friend”?

After four years of silence, an account know to have belonged to Satoshi Nakamoto, bitcoin’s inventor, stated just one word: nour.

What that means exactly is not very clear. Some suggest it is in Arabic and translates to light, but that’s usually pronounced as noor.

Close enough you might say, but Google’s top search result is the urban dictonary which described nour as:

“The most loving, affectionate and caring person you’ll ever meet. Extremely smart, funny and sensitive. A bit lost, still figuring out what she wants in life and how to reach it.

Stubborn and not willing to take other peoples advice. When she smiles she makes you forget all the problems you have, her hug will give you an assurance that you have never felt and will never do.”

Did Nakamoto say nour? November 2018.

Before nour was said, Nakamoto added Wagner Tamanaha (pictured above), who appears to be a marketing specialist. Tamanaha said in a post in 2016 according to a rough translation:

“The first time I heard about blockchain and Bitcoin, I understood almost nothing, it was 2011 and it was just nerds, but I downloaded software and thought I was already mining, participating in a decentralized processing chain worldwide and helping the movement in SETI @ home style (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, late 90’s internet fever). I did this and forgot.”

Tamanaha has a Bachelors degree in Advertising and Social Communication, graduating in 1986, making him about 50 years old.

He does not appear to have any coding skills, but apparently saw the internet’s potential back in 1996. There are two comments on his Linkedin. They say of Tamanaha, again according to a rough translation:

“I’ve never worked with someone as serene as Wagner. Very positive, understanding and open to ideas and suggestions. It’s always too much to work with!” and:

“A quiet, responsible and 100% dedicated person to work. From his experience, he understands how few the Internet and social networks. It gives all the tools and the freedom for the ideas to appear and to happen. Master!”

Tamanaha appears to be from Brazil, but lives in the United States. He appears to mainly speak in Protugese on online media, and is a member of “I am a Refugee.”

Is this thus a very subtle comment on immigration? Maybe. With just one word to go by, anyone can see in it whatever they wish. They can see light as litecoin, or light as the Lightning Network or nour as a loving person and a person who appears to be an immigrant.

Others of course might not want to see any of it because Nakamoto’s account was hacked in 2016 or so. Therefore if one wishes they might want to think it is not Nakamoto at all.

Yet why a hacker would bother to add this Brazilian cryptonian and to say nour is not very clear. Tamanaha himself said on Twitter: “Looks like Satoshi’s reappeared and I’m being investigated :-).”

That’s a  translation, so if the word is really investigated is not clear, but by that he presumably means that Nakamoto is looking at him rather than an actual investigation.

Making it all quite a curious puzzle that gives everyone plenty of things to speculate about in that old Nakamoto style.
